Communication emails

We are aware that some of our communication emails have been caught by spam filters and in some cases haven’t delivered to your inboxes as a result. We are working through these issues and trialing new ways to send emails to you to ensure you receive all the essential information for your role.

We also upload our communication emails onto the County website, the archive can be accessed here: https://oxonscouting.org.uk/volunteer-resources/running-scouting-in-oxfordshire/communicating-scouting/

First response – Blended model (Module 10A)

HQ have updated the way that module 10A is delivered and you can now complete it as an e-learning module on MyLearning. We have updated the County Website learning pages to reflect these changes and they contain the links to the different ways you can complete your first response learning. Don’t forget if you complete module 10A online, you also need to complete Module 10B as well for the practical elements.

The first response pages can be accessed here: https://oxonscouting.org.uk/volunteer-resources/learning-development-awards/adult-training/

Patrols and adult support needed for CPCW 2026

CPCW is a popular scouting event and competition with a focus on either putting core scouting skills to the test or teaching them, camping as a patrol with scored meals cooked over open fire. Hygiene and campcraft is high on the menu, backed up by fun and challenging patrol activities with a team work angle and more modern elements such as a silent disco, archery, shooting, climbing wall, photography, talent competition and our ever comical MC from Bristol. The event is open to all scouts, regardless of experience with participant age limits in accordance with the Scout section, but with applications welcomed for Explorers, Network & Leaders for the many support roles we need to run this camp. All Groups registering must supply at least one adult event staff member. The event costs £50 per young person and includes a first night BBQ but not food for the event which must be planned by Scout participants. Registration will be live from 7th April 2026, the event is 2nd-4th October at Horley Campsite – further details and links to register are all available at https://cpcw-oxon.events. Please direct any questions to the event lead, Chris Bee, via cpcw@oxonscouting.org.uk
