We are holding a County Cub camp in 2019 at the Wet’n’Wild Aqua Park on Queensford Lake, near Berinsfield. We will have sole access to the lake over the weekend including exclusive use of the Aqua Park.
The camp, which will run from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon, will have an international theme with each of the Districts representing a continent (or region, in some cases) of the world – see below. The camp will include a grand opening ceremony, parade, day and night activities and much, much more. We would like to see everyone dressed up for the parade on the Saturday night in the theme of their region:
- West Oxon: Asia
- Oxford Spires: North America
- North Oxon: Europe
- Thames Ridge: Africa
- Thames Chiltern: Oceania
- King Alfred: Latin America
Activities will be based around three zones; Land, Sea and Air and will provide Cubs with the opportunity to undertake all sorts of activities including the aqua park, dragon boating, pioneering, pedaloes, drumming workshops, paddle boarding, bushcraft, science activities, grass sledging, coding and communications and much, much more!
Camp cost – £50 for Cubs; £5 for leaders, young leaders, and all other non-participating attendees
To attend you need to register your pack on EMS (www.scouts-ems.org.uk) and send a £100 deposit by the end of January 2019. The system is now open for bookings. The deposit will be deducted from the final booking that you make. Final numbers and all monies will need to be paid by 19th April 2019 (Good Friday).
Heath forms will need to be completed online and all DBS checks completed for adults on camp by 31st May 2019.

Gilwell 24 is a 24-hour event and the 2019 event are set to be our biggest and best yet at Scout
Adventures Gilwell Park, London. Gilwell 24 2019 will take place from 12th to 14th July 2019.
Gilwell 24 is 24 hours of non-stop action! Can you stay awake for 24 hours? With numerous
adventurous and exciting activities across the site to keep you entertained – from fairground rides to
bands and a huge disco, to zip wire, water slides and bag jump… and everything in between!
Can you also stay awake long enough to complete our Gilwell 24 Gauntlet Challenge in the middle of
the night and make it through to the survivor’s photo?
This event will start at 0900 on Saturday the 13th July and will keep everyone fully entertained until
0900 on Sunday the 14th July. In addition, we will host a disco to welcome you as we will be staying
overnight on the Friday.
Oxfordshire Scouts have the opportunity to travel by coach with other Explorer Scouts to the event
Friday 12th July departing M40 Junction 10 Oxford Services at 6pm, arriving home at approx. 1pm
Sunday 14th July as we will be departing Gilwell at 10.30am for some much-needed sleep!

What is Oxon Gathering?
Oxon gathering is a chance for adult volunteers from across the county to learn, share knowledge and have a great time. There will be the opportunity to learn new skills, attend workshops, relax and socialise.
Who is it for?
Oxon Gathering is for Adult volunteers of all sections and roles within Oxfordshire Scouts. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate anyone under the age of 18 for the weekend. Children may attend as day visitors with their parents, but please note, there will no activities provided for children and they are to be supervised at all times and must be off site by 7pm.
Where is it being held?
Millennium Hall, Horton-Cum-Studley, Oxfordshire,
Weekend camping option is £15 catered; starting at 7pm Friday 13th September and finishing at 2pm Sunday 15th September. There will be a BBQ on the Saturday night. A day visitor option is available for Saturday or Sunday at a cost of £5 for food or free of charge if you provide your own packed lunch. Tea and Coffee will be served all day.
We welcome tents and caravans at the event. Caravans will need to be pre-booked along with your booking, please do this as part of the booking process above. Please be aware we are unable to offer an electric hook up and generators are not allowed on site.

This is the first step towards becoming a British Canoeing Kayak or Canoe Coach. It will teach coaching skills useful for teaching young people and obtaining water activity permits. The course is being run by an external instructor and is being subsidised by the County to help scout leaders become qualified. Numbers are limited to 6 participants and will be allocated on a first come basis.

£85 per person (this is a reduced cost as the course is subsidised by the County. Hence no additional training or travel claims can be made).
A prerequisite of the course is to join British Canoeing as a “On the Water” member. This will cost £27 for under 18’s, £35 for 19 to 22 year group and £45 for those above 23. This cost will be met by the participant.

CESAW is an activity weekend for Explorer Scouts, this year featuring our very own colour run as well as a range of on activities as well as the now famous non-alcoholic Sea-saw Explorer Bar. All meals are included on this event as part of the camp fee. What a say on the activities?

Oxfordshire’s County Patrol Camping Weekend is a fun weekend camp where your Troop leaders
will not camp with you, but there will be plenty of adults around to make sure you are OK. You will
also get to try out a wide range of activities and the chance to meet other Scouts from all over
You will camp as a Patrol and cook your own food over altar fires. If not every member of your
normal Troop Patrol can come, then you can make up a Patrol from your Troop, but you should try
to make sure it is as near as possible to a normal Troop Patrol, i.e. 4 to 7 Scouts, including one PL,
one APL and a range of ages.
The camp is at Horley Scout Campsite, Wroxton Road, Horley, Banbury OX15 6AU from Friday 4th
October to Sunday 6th October 2019.
You need to cater for all meals through the weekend, it’s a good idea to bring something hot for
lunch on Saturday. A good idea would be soup and sandwiches, but remember that you only have
an hour and a half to prepare, cook, eat and clear up – so don’t go mad! We will provide a free
dinner on Saturday evening as part of the evening entertainment (that you do not need to bring

It is a “travel-free” Jamboree that takes place wherever you are in the world.
Each year Oxfordshire Scouts run its very own JOTA JOTI weekend for all to attend.
