Those in the team will ensure that volunteers have the right skills and experience to gain a Nights Away permit as well as supporting learning opportunities for Nights Away Assessors across the County and volunteers looking to gain their permits.
The Activities Team will be made up of our Activity Assessors who will assess volunteers to ensure they have the right qualifications, skills and experience to gain adventurous activity permits. All activity assessors will be part of the County team as there is no equivalent team at District level. The team will support volunteers gaining permits as well as reviewing and renewing permits as applicable. In addition, the team will look to ensure there are learning opportunities for volunteers across the County to gain the experience and skills for permits, where appropriate.
The International Team will encourage, support and manage all visits abroad in the County. Members of the team will be able to offer advice and support to leaders looking to take young people overseas, assess and support planning of visits abroad and manage the visits abroad process within the Scouts policies. The team will ensure County led visits abroad are open to all in the County as well as supporting Groups and Units with their own trips abroad.
The Top Awards Team will encourage and support all Sections in gaining the top awards available, from Chief Scouts Acorn Awards to King Scout Awards this is the team to answer any queries you may have on the top awards for your Section. They will also be looking to promote the range of Top Awards available to all Sections including the Young Leader Scheme and Scouts of the World badge by supporting volunteers with the information about the awards and supporting young people on their way to achieving them.
The Event Management Team will help to support and manage all the County activities and events. From helping to build the teams running events to supporting the Board of Trustees with regular reports, the team will encourage and support those delivering County led activities.
