Want to volunteer?
Our adult volunteers really are the backbone of Scouting. Without our dedicated volunteers, Oxfordshire Scouts could not provide a safe place for young people to flourish.
Why should you volunteer?
Training Scheme
We like to give back to our volunteers. We offer an award-winning training scheme which builds your skills and knowledge, counts towards external qualifications and enhances your career prospects.

Suit your skills and passions
Worried you’re not an ‘outdoorsy’ person? You certainly don’t have to be sporty to join us. We have volunteers with specialisms in computer coding, dance and drama as well as first aid.
We also have volunteers who live for mountaineering, archery or abseiling.
It doesn’t matter what your skill set is, we can always find a valuable place for you in Oxfordshire Scouts.
Flexible volunteering
The great thing about volunteering for the scouts is you get to decide when you’d like to volunteer. Some people can commit to leading a group on a weekly or monthly basis. Others, like to volunteer at weekends, incorporating this into their hobbies such as camping, hiking or watersports.
You can also support other adults who volunteer with young people through coaching and mentoring.
Make new friends and meet new people
Lots of our volunteers benefit from meeting people and making new friends. It’s an opportunity to meet others with similar interests.
We find many of our volunteers socialise outside of volunteering.
What are the requirements?
You have to be over the age of 18 and have a passion for getting involved with scouting.
Who is Volunteering for?
Volunteering is aimed at those over eighteen who have a passion for the Scouts and helping young people.
