As you may have heard, after more than 8 years in the role David Walsh would like to pass the baton of District Commissioner to a new volunteer or team of volunteers.

Being a DC, will look great on your CV, demonstrating to prospective employers that you have some amazing additional skills. Don’t worry if you are new to Scouts, that’s no problem, we will teach you everything you need to know. Volunteering with Scouting can be as flexible as you need so if you are worried that you won’t have enough time why not consider a role share within a small team.

We are looking for a team of County Youth Commissioners who can work together and in partnership with the County Commissioner and wider County Team to lead Youth Shaped Scouting in Oxfordshire. The team will work with the County Commissioner to help develop the County and ensure that we are delivering what the young people in Oxfordshire want and that decisions are made with our young people in mind. We want to empower young people to share their ideas and have a meaningful impact. We are looking for a passonate volunteer to support the Deputy County Commissioner (Programme) in delivering the County Development Plan. The County team for Programme has a responsibility to ensure that the programme that is being delivered to young people in sections and units is of high quality, offering the full breadth of programme and is consistently delivering top awards (Chief Scout Awards).
