County Support & Resources

Oxfordshire Scout County owns several items for use at events and other large activities. These items are available for loan during periods when they are not used for County events.

The process for booking equipment is outlined here.

The equipment is managed by the County Quartermaster.

A full list of what is available to hire from the store can be downloaded here.

To make a booking download the booking form, complete and return it to our County Quartermaster

We also have a box trailer that can be hired to help with the hiring of equipment, the trailer booking agreement can be downloaded here, and returned to our County Quartermaster.

Climbing Wall

We have a climbing wall for recruitment and fundraising events for Scouting within Oxfordshire. If you have an event, you would like to attend with your Group to aid in the recruitment of adults and young people, please do get in touch by completing the climbing wall form here.

There are a number of factors to consider booking our wall, here is a handy FAQ to support your Scout Group or unit in making the decision to book.

Our Discovery is available to use for a donation towards the running costs. It is capable of towing our climbing wall and comes with insurance and breakdown cover.

To book the Discovery please contact our County Quartermaster.

If you haven’t used the Discovery before you will be required to complete a drivers check, along with a licence code from the DVLA website, which can be accessed here. Download a copy of the drivers check form here. Both documents will need to be sent to our County Administrator.

Minibus and trailer grants

Moving young people or kit around is often a key part of taking your group away or even a task done on a weekly basis. We recognise that there is a license required to do this and as time goes on the number of licenses that qualify is diminishing. We can support you to undergo the test for a minibus or trailer license if required to make Scouting in your area happen. Full details of the grants we offer for this can be found here.

We have an excellent range of casual Oxfordshire Scouts clothing that can be purchased and worn by anyone. View and purchase the range here.

Communication emails

Your one stop shop for all the latest news from around the County. The communication email is our monthly email that is sent directly into your mailbox full of all the latest information and opportunities for you and the young people within your section.

GDPR is an essential part of our daily admin. The Scouts provide a framework to ensure your Group or Unit is keeping everything secure and conforming to regulations. Further information is available to download here.
